7 DIY Spa Items to Make & Give
You are probably being plastered with all sorts of ads about Christmas and all that stuff. Gather your friends and have them come over with some wine or have a few friends over with their little ones to have a mommy/child time. Either way it’s a great way to celebrate yet relax all together.

Milk and Honey Bath
4 Tablespoons honey

1. Place the honey in a bowl and add the boiling water. Stir until the honey has dissolved. Leave to cool.
2. Place the milk powder in a bowl and gradually mix in the honey water.
3. Add the milk mixture to a warm bath, swishing it about so the milk powder dissolves completely.
Winter Avocado Mask
1/2 ripe avocado
1 whole egg
1 Tbsp Greek yogurt

1 Tbsp coconut oil (optional)
Combine all ingredients in blender and process for 30 seconds. Apply immediately to clean skin. Leave on 5-10 minutes until you feel mask start to tighten and dry. Rinse with warm water. Gently dry face and apply daily face moisturizer to damp skin.
* If you want extra hydration add the 1 Tbsp coconut oil
* Never let mask fully dry on skin
* When removing use warm water and finger tips to gently loosen mask before removing with washcloth. (Although washcloth is not necessary)
* You will want to use this asap during your party, it doesn’t store.
Easy Peppermint Foot Soak
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup Epsom salt
2 TBSP loose peppermint tea
10 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)
Stir all ingredients together in a bowl. You can open 1-2 peppermint tea bags to create loose leaf tea
Transfer to an air tight container.
To use, place 1/2 cup of peppermint foot soak in hot water, insert feet and enjoy!
Cranberry Sugar Scrub
1 cup whole frozen or fresh cranberries (fresh works better)
2 cups extra fine granulated sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
12 drops orange essential oil (lemon also works great with this recipe too)
Airtight container or jar
Place your cranberries into your blender and blend until slightly lumpy
Add the sugar, coconut oil, and essential oil into the blender and continue to blend. You want to reach a thick smoothie consistency
Remove from blender using a spoon and place into an airtight jar.
Tie some ribbon or twine around the container and attach the label.
Gift it to someone special!
Handmade Peppermint Bath Bombs
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup Citric Acid
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 Tablespoon Epsom salt
2 teaspoons Sweet Almond Oil
3/4 teaspoon water
15-20 drops Peppermint Oil
food coloring (optional)
In a small bowl combine almond oil, water, essential oil, and food coloring.
Pour wet mixture into dry mixture. Mix with a whisk until fully combined. Use your hands to press bath bomb mixture into mold.
You can use the ornament balls I mentioned above or make creative shapes with baking molds. I used a silicone snowflake mold from Amazon for mine. Tip: carefully press the mixture into the silicone mold, try not to press too hard to avoid having the mold widen and distort the design. I let the ornament balls set for 2 hours before removing the plastic ornament ball, then setting them on a towel to dry overnight. For the snowflake mold, I let them dry overnight. The dry time will depend on the humidity in your area and home.
DIY Peppermint & Cinnamon Lip Balm
3 Tablespoons Shea Butter
1 Tablespoon Beeswax
1 capsule of vitamin E oil (optional)
1 Tablespoon of Grape seed Oil (or Olive, Coconut- I used food grade) Candy Flavors (or essential oils- food grade)
Melt Beeswax and Shea Butter. I wait until the Beeswax is about half melted before I add the Shea. Once both are liquid, add in the oil and remove from heat.
Carefully pour into measuring cup and add your candy flavor or essential oil. How much is up to you. It will also depend on the strength of the product you use. I like to add 5-6 drops at a time. Gently stir.
Carefully fill your tins. Allow to set up overnight at room temperature. (Leave the lid open)
